Gone are the days after Chinese companies blatantly copied western giants. In the past several years, companies coming out of China which includes Huawei and Xiaomi has pioneered a large amount of modern-day innovations that go under your phone. And it seems to be such as the trend will continue for a foreseeable future.
Xiaomi has just unveiled that it has successfully tried 100W quick charging for handsets. Lin Bin, President and co-founder of Xiaomi unveiled this news via a Weibo article a some hrs ago. In the post, he uncovered that the company’s engineers were capable to achieve an astonishing 100W quick charging, which essentially charges a 4000mAh battery from 0 to 100 percent in just 17 minutes! That’s nearly twice as quick as the SuperVOOC from OPPO, what is presently the fastest charging tech out there in the market for a telephone.
The manufacturer was even kind enough to prove us that OPPO’s SuperVOOC could only charge up to 65 percent by the time the Xiaomi model on panel was charged completely. By the way, Xiaomi’s 100W charging technology is being called as Super Charge Turbo, at least according to the video.
Unfortunately, apart from this demo, Xiaomi’s Lin Bin didn’t share any more details about the technology. So, the big question now is, whether we’ll view it anytime in the near future. We yet haven’t met the real successor to the Mi Mix 3 yet (apart from a 5G edition), so it’s probable that the Mi Mix 4 can house this technical under. Interestingly, the company seems to have teased the update to the Mix 3 model earlier today. So, it couldn’t have been a coincidence that Lin Bin decided to share this today. Anyway, let’s wait for a lot more details before we receive too excited. Stay tuned for extra updates.
